PREVENTION EDUCATION & TRAINING (P.E.T.) The PET department provides issue based training courses in relation to blood borne viruses, sexual health, and sexual negotiation skills. Our training initiatives are delivered and designed by skilled trainers who have extensive experience working in this area. We provide training programmes for youth workers (see our training for trainers programmes on the 'Training' section, and also provide tailored training programmes to suit your clients needs. Other training courses can be designed on request. Groups accessing our training have included -Statutory Bodies, Voluntary Agencies, Community Groups, Prisons & Schools. In addition the P.E.T. department also incorporates a resource library which can be accessed by the public. We have information, specialist periodicals, journals, training material, etc, with reference to HIV/AIDS and related issues. The P.E.T. department is actively involved in the organisation of promotional campaigns such as Irish AIDS Day and World AIDS Day. The PET department strives to combat the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS and drug use. For further information please telephone the P.E.T.
